UX Designer Subject Matter Expert

The UX Designer Subject Matter Expert is responsible for executive-level oversight of all strategic issues related to the user experience/customer experience. Expert who delivers product visions, roadmaps, and detailed plans alongside Product Owners and Stakeholders and outlines information architecture using available data and research to inform decisions.

Job Duties

  • Designs and implements user test plans, conducts user interviews and meetings and designs qualitative and quantitative questionnaires, surveys, and polls to collect research data.
  • Provides detailed research reporting and writes user stories and user acceptance criteria.
  • Conducts shadowing and observation research, documents, presents findings, and makes recommendations based on research.
  • Produces mood boards, style guides, and interactive development guidelines for front-end development teams.
  • Creates brand cohesion across enterprise applications, performs heuristic evaluations, and supplies requirements and reports for 508 compliance.
  • Uses CSS and HTML knowledge to evaluate from end code to test for 508 compliance and usability across browsers and operating systems.
  • Establishes ongoing metrics collection and establishes user outreach programs for continuous improvement using services such as Google Analytics, Web Trends, Splunk, or similar.

Qualifications


  • Minimum of 10 years of user experience in design principles and best practices as a UX Designer
  • Experience providing detailed sketches, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for Stakeholders and user testing or leading a team in these deliverables.
  • Is fluent in Adobe and Microsoft applications, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research
  • Ability to collaborate with agile teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of UX design principles, typography, and design theories
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders, leadership, and development teams
  • Leading design, research and testing teams
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Web Trends, Splunk, or similar.

Desired

  • Previous experience working within the US Government
  • 15 years of experience with 10 years as a lead or manager
  • Familiarity with big data or analytics
  • Exposure to data visualization
  • Portfolio showing ability to design complex business to employee experiences
  • SAFe Agile training or experience
  • Experience working with animation, HTML5, CSS3
  • Experience working hybrid (in person and remotely)
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, and Asure
  • UX certification(s)
