Manager Software Engineering
The Manager of Software Engineering is responsible for leading the software development team, designing solutions, directing and designing software solutions and oversight of the software lifecycle. This position has no direct reports.

Supervisor: Director Product Development
Exemption: Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage software development process and personnel
  • Oversee software development and integration
  • Lead and manage projects for one or multiple software applications or developments
  • Create software applications by following software development life-cycle process, which includes requirements gathering, design, development, testing, release and maintenance
  • Design, code, test, correct and document large and/or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
  • Design and develop software modules that meet customer requirements while upholding high standards, reliability, security, maintainability, and performance
  • Assist in defining product technical architecture
  • Perform software quality assurance, including all types of testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance
  • Trouble-shoot and correct software defects
  • Write technical documentation
  • Enhance and maintain existing applications
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 3+ years leading/managing development teams
  • 5+ years of experience building software applications
  • 5+ years of professional experience with the Microsoft .Net platform including VB.Net, C#, Visual Studio, and Windows Forms
  • Expertise in data modeling, SQL, PL/SQL and stored procedures
  • A knowledgeable individual with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the healthcare, insurance or PBM industry
  • Excellent knowledge of database technology, preferable Oracle or SQL
  • Understanding of waterfall and agile software development methodology and industry best practices
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • A decisive individual who possesses a detail oriented perspective
  • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Ability to lead and work with peers in a team effort
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision
  • Capability to efficiently complete tasks in a fast paced environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Includes a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
