Our work depends on a Data Analytics Lead joining our team to remotely support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.
At GDIT, our people are at the center of everything we do. As a Data Analytics Lead supporting CMS, you will be trusted to lead the acquisition, management, manipulation, and analysis of complex data sets. You will complete data modeling and database design development, as well provide expertise in identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets. In this role, a typical day will include:
Leading the data analytics function for large data integration projects
Providing inputs on complex data modeling, database design, and development efforts, including the analysis and evaluation of incoming data from many disparate data sources.
Interpreting data linkages, hierarchies, sequencing, and nuances in new data sources.
Conducing system analysis of complex data sets for CMS and other stakeholders across various data domains, such as Medicare & Medicaid providers, Medicare & Medicaid beneficiaries and Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace consumers
Developing automated and manual processes to validate data inputs, assuring data can be ingested, stored, manipulated, and used for dissemination
Efficiently manipulating XML and other standard file formats
Building and maintaining temporary databases and data structures necessary to analyze and troubleshoot issues with current and planned data sources
Supporting CMS with ad-hoc data requests and proof of concepts, and work with other leads to maintain a high level of ongoing data quality within the system
Designing and conducting data verification to allow certification of data integrity (true to source)
Ensuring that the team maintains necessary data domain knowledge
Understanding and explaining data linkages, hierarchies, sequencing, and nuances in new and existing data sources
Maintaining a log of source data issues and providing the customer with timely guidance on the impact of the issues and mitigation options
Participating in peer reviews and other life cycle activities, and reviewing work products, to ensure the team understands the data and produces accurate, high-quality deliverables with respect to the data.
Leading and/or mentoring Data Analyst team members
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience
7+ years of hands-on data analytics experience, including:
Advanced SQL programming skills
Advanced understanding of efficient manipulation of XML and other standard file formats, the ability to build and maintain temporary databases or data structures necessary to analyze and troubleshoot issues with current and planned data source
Advanced experience with statistical analysis packages is desirable for analyzing large datasets
Advanced experience in developing graphs, ad hoc reports, report writing, presentations of project results is required
Ability to perform basic statistical analyses
Hands-on experience leading data analytics activities on large data integration projects
Hands-on experience with tools used to design, develop and implement large data analytic systems, such as Informatica ETL; DB2; IBM InfoSphere; Microstrategy; and/or ERWin
Advanced understanding of efficient manipulation of XML and other standard file formats, including the ability to build and maintain temporary databases or data structures necessary to analyze and troubleshoot issues with current and planned data sources
2+ years of experience as a successful team lead
Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years
US citizen or a Green Card holder
SME-level knowledge of Health Care industry data, especially CMS, Medicare and/or Medicaid data
Experience with Beneficiary, Provider and/or Program Organization Relationship CMS data domains
Experience with Business Intelligence, Big Data and Analytics tools and techniques

The likely salary range for this position is $103,272 - $172,453, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
